from our Guests of Honor and more.
FRIDAY
9:00 am - Coffee and Donuts at registration. Yes, we know that’s not how
you spell doughnuts, but they are Dunkin’ Donuts, and that’s how they
spell it.
10:00 am - The Games of the Fourth Neconiad begin. The Thrill of Victory,
The Agony of Paul Dobish. The Olympics will begin with miniature golf
(Bob Booth pre-tournament favorite, as he is the official scorekeeper). A
convoy will leave the campus en route to the course at 10:00. Volunteer
drivers are needed, let us know at registration.
1:00 pm - Lunch
2:00 pm - The Attack Of Asian Zombies, Now That Buffy’s Gone, or Horror
Breaks Out in the Media Again. How come we ain’t rich? Phil Nutman
(who has promised Hollywood horror stories), Les Daniels, Yvonne
Navarro, Christopher Golden, Craig Gardner (moderator).
3:00 pm - Dark Dreamers - Stan Wiater introduces two episodes of his
highly regarded interview show, featuring Gahan Wilson.
4:00 pm - Legend Gahan Wilson is interviewed by Winkie Lee.
6:00 pm - Dinner.
7:00 pm - Artist’s Reception to be held outside the Art Show.
8:00 pm - Meet the authors in the bar. The Olympic 8-Ball tournament. Bob
Booth is the pre-tournament favorite (because he decides the brackets
and is the arbiter in all disputed calls).
10:00 pm - Special Encore showing of The Lost Skeleton Of Cadavera
(soon to be released on DVD!). You owe it to yourself to watch this.

9:00 am - Horror In The Twenty-first Century What’s next? Holly Newstein,
Michael Arruda, Dan Keohane, Gerard Houarner, John Harvey, Tina Jens
(moderator).
10:00 am - The Dark Art Of Cartooning - How do horror and humor mix?
Gahan Wilson, Cortney Skinner, Elena Steir, Jill Bauman (moderator).
11:00 am - We’re Not Talking Casper - How writing about ghosts really
tells us about ourselves. T.M. Wright, Rick Hautala, Elizabeth Hand,
Thomas Tessier, Gordon Linzner (moderator).
Noon - GOH interview. James Moore grills T.M. Wright and Elizabeth
Hand. Results are medium rare to well done.
1:00 pm - Lunch.
2:00 p.m. - Horror Bleeds - How horror works in other genres and the
mainstream. F. Paul Wilson, Douglas Clegg, Dallas Mayr (aka Jack
Ketchum), Chet Williamson, John Clute, Douglas E. Winter (moderator).
3:00 pm Scary People! - Who are the scariest people you’ve ever met?
How do you work them into your fiction? Steven Spruill, P.D. Cacek,
Thomas F. Monteleone, James Moore, Elizabeth Massie (moderator).
4:00 pm - Softball and Croquet. Softball (while not an Olympic event) is
still hotly contested. Tom Monteleone swears his arm is in good shape
and ready to go. Rick Hautala’s picture-perfect swing is highly tuned.
Croquet is the third of four Olympic Events. Stay away from Richard
Sardinha (who doesn’t play to win, but to whack). Bob Booth is not favored
in this event, as his professional standing does not allow him to
participate in amateur matches.
6:00 pm - Dinner.
7:00 pm - Talent Show! All singing! All dancing! Some of it good! Come
win valuable prizes! Hosted by the usual Doug and Craig.
8:30 pm - TBA (Don’t miss it.)
10:00 pm - Ghosts Of Albion. A one hour animated film written by
Christopher Golden and Amber Benson, including the voices of Anthony
Daniels and Emma Sands - introduced by Christopher Golden.
SUNDAY
10 am - King’s Quitting! What’s Next? Ginjer Buchanan, John Douglas,
Laura Anne Gilman, Richard Chizmar, Darrell Schweitzer (moderator).
11:00 am - Town Meeting - Let us know what you liked, what you didn’t,
and where Necon is going next.
1:00 pm - The Long Good-bye Cookout.
Programming Note: You may notice that the traditional Necon Roast is not
mentioned above. This, however, does not mean that the Roast will not occur.
Indeed, the Roast might begin at any moment over the Necon weekend. Be
afraid. Be very afraid.
